Google Chrome’s Next Update Will Finally Block Autoplay Videos That Have Sound

One thing I really hate while browsing besides flooding ads is unexpected autoplaying video.
You're peacefully browsing, enjoying the moment next a video is playing from God knows where.

Thankfully, Google is finally getting serious about blocking annoying autoplay videos. The next Chrome update (version 66) will include changes to autoplay videos that means the browser will only play them if you click and interact with the site, or have previously “shown an interest in media on the site.”

These changes was originally scheduled for Chrome 64, which arrived in January with an option to permanently mute annoying websites that abuse autoplay videos with the sound on by default.

Apple Reportedly Working On A Foldable iPhone

Earlier yesterday, I was discussing iPhone designs with a friend who is a chronic Apple Fanboy and I told him that the company had run out design ideas judging by the poor design of the iPhone X and the three iPhones expected to launch this year(My opinion). This wasn't our first iPhone vs Android discussion and is certainly not the last.

Anyways, according to him, Apple was going to come up with a new design which would be better than the preceding ones. I didn't believe this was possible because to me, the iphone 7 Plus design is the best Apple has and would be able to come up with. But then, I saw this article on The verge suggesting that Apple is reportedly working on a foldable iPhone which could be released within two years.

Senior analyst Wamsi Mohan wrote a note to clients today after meeting several Apple suppliers in Asia. “We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past,” Mohan wrote, “Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.”

Last year, a Korean media outlet reported that Apple was teaming up with LG, but that report only had anonymous industry sources so it wasn't taken serious. It stated that Apple would order foldable OLED panels that could start production in 2020.

Both Samsung and Lenovo have already hinted phones with foldable screens, but neither have actually released such a device on the market. Given the patents and demonstrations out there, it seems like foldable screens could be the next form factor.

There Are Reports Of Samsung S9 Having An Unresponsive Touchsreen

Some Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus devices are experiencing problems with unresponsive touchscreens, according to various reports from online forums like Reddit and XDA. Some users are complaining that some parts of their Galaxy S9/S9+ are not functioning.

This is really bad for Samsung as the Samsung S9 and S9+ were launched  ery recently and they had a major issue with the unresolved widespread Galaxy Note 7 explosion issues last year which made the company totally scrap the Note 7 device.
I sincerely hope this is nothing like the Galaxy Note 7(for their sake).

It’s not clear how widespread the unresponsive touchscreen problem is, but according to Android Central, Samsung has already issued a statement saying that it’s “looking into a limited number of reports,” so hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.

Teleology Holdings Is Officially The New Owner Of 9Mobile

After a long period of biding and back and forth speculation, Teleology Holdings Limited has been officially confirmed as the preferred bidder for 9mobile by Barclays Africa who is acting as the transaction adviser.

According to the report, Barclays Africa sent an official letter declaring Teleology Holdings Limited as the preferred bidder.
Teleology was also told to make a non-refundable cash deposit of $50 million within 21 days from the date of the letter or forfeit its position as the preferred bidder which has been done so Teleology Holdings officially owns 9mobile.

They have now formed an alliance with Safaricom a popular Telecom company.

I think Teleology deserved the win after coming on strong right from the start even when some of the bidders ran due to the large debt 9mobile had amassed, I only wish that they don't change the name again, a lot of us haven't gotten used to saying 9mobile we can't afford a new name now.

1 Million More Nigerians Have Activated DND on Their Lines

Before I continue with this post, let me clarify and explain what D-N-D means for those that don't know.
Simply put, D-N-D stands for Do-Not-Disturb, and as the name suggests,it is a service that allows users to block unauthorized sms and calls mostly from service providers and other advertisements.
According to recent reports, about 9 million Nigerians have activated the DND code on their phones.

This was revealed by the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, at the just concluded Mobile World Congress where he was a speaker.

The number was said to have increased from 8 million subscribers last year to 9 million in February— representing an increase of 12.5%.

Although, the D-N-D command was created to stop subscribers from receiving unsolicited calls from service providers, it isn't 100% effective as some calls and texts still manage to crawl in. This unprecedented breach of service has forced the NCC to introduce the 622 service line, a toll-free line that allows subscribers to report cases of directly to the NCC.

Lets see if the new 622 line would stop service providers from disturbing her users.
