Man Orders iPhone 6S, Get Pancake In A Box Instead

Just as Donald Trump said in his book, "The Art Of The Deal", "There is rarely such a thing as a great deal ". Yea I know, that was weird I just quoted Donald Trump.. He was right though, when deals appear to be too good to be true, in most cases they are!

This is something a chinese man experienced first hand.

He ordered for an iPhone 6S online at a great price of 1500 yuan (around $230), this is about 70% off the actual price of an iPhone 6S!

He got his order but when open it, he saw nothing more than a PANCAKE!!!

Man buys iPhone 6S gets Pancake in a box
If the guy was in the mood for jokes, he could have at least appreciated the time it took the scammer to prepare the pancakes...... Hehe

Now, after reading this you'll see it isn't just in computer village that people get scammed! And this isn't the only case, there was a case of a woman who bought a laptop for $250 but got a bundle of paper, then there's another lady that paid $180 for a wooden iPhone!

And on eBay, a man paid $450 for a MacBook but he got.......... Just a picture of the MacBook!!

I have overstressed this and I would say it again, if you're buying ANYTHING, be sure to inspect it right there at the point of sale so that you don't buy an iPhone stuffed with fufu..

Creo Wants To Surprise You With A New Phone Every Month

When new phone manufacturers emerge, most of what they do is promise heaven and earth just to get attention and get customers on their side. However, only few of these OEMs actually come back to fulfill their promises, others just forget they ever said such.

A new Indian startup company is prepared to launch a new Android device called Creo Mark 1. So, what is so special about the creo mark 1 that I decided to talk about today?

New phone every month

The Creo Mark 1 would likely run a customized version of the Android OS. And the company---this is the best part---the company promises to release monthly software updates for the creo mark 1, not security patches actual software updates!

They also promised that the updates would be so fresh, it'll feel like you just got a new phone. That is, a new phone every month.

The phone itself looks really nice with nice curved edges for a better grip and more comfort in the hand. So if you aren't buying it for the monthly system updates, you could also buy it for the looks.

The device is yet to be launched so I can't promise anything yet, let's just hope they keep to their word. Not even apple releases a new system update every month but it'll be nice to see them try.

If you'll like to be notified on every new development, you can sign up for the company's newsletter here.

How To Spot A Fake Infinix Hot Note

I saw this on yomiprof.com and I thought it would be best to share with you guys so no of you would fall victim for these counterfeit products.

In a previous post, I showed you how to spot a fake Infinix Hot 2 and in this post, I'll be sharing a few ways to know a fake Infinix Hot note.

The Infinix Hot note is one of the most successful and most popular Infinix devices of all time, so it is only normal for it to have fake look alikes.

The guys responsible for this fake devices do their best to make them a perfect copy of the original product making it hard for even experts to differentiate the fake from the original product. However, they can never be a 100% alike so there are a few things you can use to tell them apart.

How To Know A Fake Infinix Hot Note

1. The speaker, Sim and SD card slot is arranged differently.

How to know a fake Infinix Hot note

2. The top view is different from the original Hot note. And also, the sensor is placed differently,it is vertically placed on the fake and horizontal on the original. The sensor is that black circle beside the front camera.
Check the image below.

Fake Infinix Hot note

3. The charger of the fake Infinix Hot note is different from the charger is f the original Infinix Hot note. The original Infinix Hot note charger looks more authentic while the fake Infinix Hot note's charger looks like these cheap 200 Naira chargers on the street.

Original Infinix Hot note charger

Now that you know about the fake Infinix Hot note, be sure to be vigilant when buying one. Not just Hot note, before buying any phone, I advice that you do an extensive research on the phone so that you don't end up buying a fake product that will give you a headache.

Whatsapp Update To Feature Bold And Italic Texts

The latest beta version of whatsapp has introduced a new feature which allows you to write text in bold or italic format. By adding asterisks on both sides of the word or phrase you can make it bold, i.e *word* would become bold and adding underscores to the word or phrase would make it italic, writing _word_ becomes Word.

Bold and italics texts in whatsapp

There are also some other pretty cool features that have been added they include;

Read More - A new 'Read More' feature have been added to whatsapp, this breaks a 'really' long message just like continue reading on Facebook.
I think this a good addition, I don't know if you guys have also noticed that reeeaaallly long messages crash whatsapp. With this, that would be stopped.

New whatsapp read more

Redesigned Settings Menu - The settings on the coming update would also be redesigned and I got to say it looks much better.

New whatsapp arrangements

Your display picture is now in a circle instead of the square it was in before.

Link Copying - This is one thing I always thought whatsapp was lacking. Whenever you copy a link from a message, you had to first copy the entire message then paste it somewhere else before you can now copy the link and this is too much work. However, in the new update you can easily copy a link from a message by pressing and holding on the link. This saves you a lot of time.

How to copy link in whatsapp

A bit of rearrangement was made in your friend's profile. Before, when you check your friend's profile, their status is right under their dp but now, their status is at the bottom.

New whatsapp features

This isn't really important but I just thought it was worth mentioning.

Well, that's all I could notice in the coming whatsapp Update. If you love this new features and you want to get the update, you have to Register as a whatsapp beta tester that way, you get to test new whatsapp updates before it is generally released for other people to install. Pretty cool right?

WARNING!! Blackberry Users DO NOT Update Your Facebook App

In yesterday's post, I told you guys that in less than a week Facebook app would no longer work on BlackBerry devices.

However, in less than an hour after publishing the post, I saw an update for the Facebook app on my brother's Blackberry Bold 2 and guess what! It wasn't the native Facebook app we're used to rather it's a Web app.

Facebook app for blackberry

So... If you still love your Facebook app the way it is, don't update it because the new app will just lead to the normal Facebook website kind of like you're facebooking on a Web browser.

I guess this is really a confirmation that the Facebook app is indeed seizing to function for blackberry devices.

As I said in the previous post, it seems Mark Zuckerberg has a thing against blackberry because I see no reason why even chinko Tecno phones (not Android) still have the regular Facebook app on them but he decides to stop whatsapp and Facebook on BlackBerry devices in the same time frame.

More Trouble For Blackberry As Facebook Stops App Support For Blackberry Devices

Hmm... It's all just been bad news for blackberry lately. First, Whatsapp announced that by the end of the year it will no longer offer support for blackberry device. As if that wasn't bad enough, Facebook has also come out to announce that it will also end support for blackberry devices by the March 31st 2016.

Facebook end support for blackberry devices

Blackberry issued a statement on their official blog saying:

The app landscape continues to evolve, and in ways that are not always within our control. Recently, Facebook made the decision to discontinue support of their essential APIs for BlackBerry and WhatsApp announced they would end support for BlackBerry 10 and BBOS at the end of 2016.

We are extremely disappointed in their decision as we know so many users love these apps. We fought back to work with WhatsApp and Facebook to change their minds, but at this time, their decision stands (but let them know how you feel on social media, using the hashtag #ILoveBB10Apps). Despite this, we have worked hard to ensure our end users have the best experience in light of this decision, and are continuing to search for alternate solutions..

This pushes blackberry deeper down the drain. If you thought blackberry was dying, this seals the deal. Over a billion people use Facebook so I guess it's safe to say that the odds are against them.

Well, you can probably still save your beloved blackberry using the hashtag #IloveBB10apps.
Does Mark Zuckerberg have a personal vendetta against Blackberry? Seeing as he owns both apps.

How To Fix 'Invalid IMEI' In Android Phones

How To Fix 'Invalid IMEI' In Android Phones
A lot of things can make your phone suddenly have an invalid imei number, sometimes when you flash your phone or just revive a bricked Android device, your imei seems to somehow just vanish!

Fixing this issue is actually so easy, I have actually written a post about it before but not directly so some people might not have realised.

In most cases, you don't have to take your phone to a repair guy to fix an invalid imei number since it something ypu can easily do yourself with just a little patience.

Trust Nigerian engineers to always try to exploit you and play on your ignorance. They could escalate the issue and make you pay an outrageous sum to get it fixed

When you have an invalid imei number, what basically happened is that your phone's imei number clear for some reason.

To Fix an invalid imei number on your device, all you have to do is;

  1. Write down your phone original imei number(you should see under your battery)
  2. Change your phone's imei to the one you have written.
To change your phone's imei, read and understand this post
It just the same method as tweaking imei, so if you know how to tweak imei, no need to read the post.

That Moment When An OLODO Becomes A Hacker

We've often heard about hackers stealing personal data of millions of users, hitting retail stores, banks and sometime last year they even went as far as hacking the US government stealing millions of fingerprints records in the process.

But I don't think we've ever heard of hackers trying to steal $1 billion, I mean, that is really huge. However, What is more shocking is not the magnitude of the attempted hack but the fact that it was spoilt due to one olodo hacker that can't spell right.

Hackers steal $1 billion from Bangladesh

Rather than busting ATMs or stealing bank details of unsuspecting customers, this group of really clever hackers managed to penetrate the security of the Bangladesh Central Bank and got their hands on payment transfer credentials. The Central bank of Bangladesh holds an account worth billions of dollars with the federal reserve bank of New York which it uses for international transactions.

With the credentials, the hackers sent almost three dozens transfer request from the account to various organizations in Sri Lanka and Philippines, many which are said to be non existent.

Four transfer requests went through and everything was going smoothly but then, the fifth transaction worth $20 million was held because of a typo(misspelling). The hackers misspelled foundation for fandation. This little error not only held up the transactions but it also alerted the Deutsche bank which immediately notified the Bangladesh central bank.

The Federal Reserve Bank then notified the Bangladesh bank of the huge number of transfers, all other transactions were held up as well. The bank was able to stop upto $870 million from being transferred. The hackers however still made away with millions of dollars.
They have been working with anti-laundering authorities in Sri Lanka and Philippines looking to recover some of the stolen money.

The hackers are still yet to be identified.

I'm just wondering what the rest of the group would do to the guy that made the error, I mean, We're talking abiout 1 billion dollars here, they certainly won't let him off easily.

Airtel Attacks MTN In New Video Ad

I was recently watching a video on YouTube, then I saw an Airtel advert right before the video started, you know some videos have adverts placed right before the real video start?

Airtel recently launched a new welcome to Airtel plan which gives you 5x what you recharge. This plan is specifically for new Airtel subscribers.

*555* even that sounds suspicious.

To promote this new service, Airtel has released a video advert and the video is really sketchy.

In the video, a man walks into a place carrying a yellow bag and a yellow phone(everyone knows yellow is MTN's official color). The man tried making a call on his 'yellow' phone but probably due to network issues the call didn't go through and the man threw the phone on a chair nearby in frustration.

Just then, his bag came alive and ran out of the place(omo see race!), the guy ran after the bag like Barry Allen jumping over cars and everything in his path hehehe...

The bag got to an Airtel shop and majestically walked in and the man followed.
As he went inside the building, the man was welcomed by two ladies, he wasn't really keen on staying he just wanted to get his bag and go. But then he was offered an Airtel phone and that got his attention.

His bag was then returned to him, while the bag was being returned it changed from yellow to red you get the point right... (switching from MTN to Airtel)
Then he tried making a call again and this time, it went through and he walked away looking really satisfied.

Now, it might just be me but this clearly looks like Airtel throwing a jab at MTN.
I mean, even that picture above is somewhat suspicious, placing a red cap on a bunch of yellow bags.

I've said my bit.

Watch the video below and tell me what you think.

Lil Wayne Pours Champagne On Samsung S7 In New Ad

I was feeling bored a while back and I decided to watch some videos on YouTube then I stumbled upon a Samsung S7 advert which had Lil Wayne in it.

The video showed Lil Wayne emptying a bottle of champagne on his Samsung S7 edge saying "I could pour this champagne on my phone and it'll still work". While he was pouring the champagne on the Galaxy S7, a call came in he picked it and said "Hey Kenny I'm 'bout to put you in the fish tank". So while he was still on the call, he puts the Galaxy S7 in the fish tank, pulls it out and no harm was done to the device.

A friend who was with him tried doing the same with his phone but on pouring some champagne on the phone, the phone let out some sparks and probably stopped working.

Lil Wayne told him his phone couldn't do it then gave him a Galaxy S7 then they both start pouring champagne on them saying.... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

The video is meant to show off the water resistant feature of the Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge.

Watch the video below...

How To Stop Receiving Messages From Etisalat Nigeria

How To Stop Receiving Messages From Etisalat Nigeria
Earlier today, I wrote a post on How to stop receiving advert messages from MTN, right now I'm covering the same thing but this time for Etisalat.

As I said in the previous post, NCC has asked all service providers to provide a means through which subscribers can opt out of unwanted services.
Etisalat has followed MTN's lead and has thus provided an opt-out code all unsolicited SMS adverts.

To opt out of the service, simply send STOP to 224 then you should get a reply.

How To Stop Receiving Those Annoying Unwanted MTN Messages

If you're an MTN subscriber, you should know that they just looovee sending unnecessary, unwanted messages that doesn't relate to you at all.

A friend of mine was going through my phone recently then she saw that I had over 100 unread messages and she was like Samm you're a big boy oO.. See the number of unread messages you have Trust me naa.. Immediately, I started showing off. I said Don't mind me, I don't have time to start replying those messages, I'll reply them when I'm free. Knowing full well that they were a bunch of messages from 4100, 5900, 131.. Etc

Thankfully, there's a way to stop receiving these messages and opt out of Mobile adverts too. Thanks to the NCC for mandating every network provider to provide a means through which subscribers can opt out of any service provided.

How To Stop Receiving MTN Advert SMS

If you'll like to stop receiving advert messages from MTN, simply dail *123*5*4# and follow the instructions on your screen.

When the process is completed, you receive a message saying that you have successfully opted out of mobile advertising.

President Buhari Finally Speaks On The Controversial MTN Fine

This has got to be the first time President Buhari is entering into any of my posts. However, since it concerns MTN, It's Tech and I'm publishing it.

The fine NCC imposed on MTN is without a doubt one of the most controversial fines in recent times, it's got everybody talking.

This time, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, president Muhammadu Buhari has something to say about it. President Buhari who has been silent since the fine was placed on MTN by NCC has finally broken his silence on the issue.

President Buhari speaks on NCC fine on MTN

According to Pres. Buhari, over 10,000 Nigerian lives were lost due to the delay in the disconnection on affected lines on the MTN network. :/

He said, "This is the first time I will personally as a president be making a public comment about it.
The concern of the Federal government is basically on the security and not the fine imposed on MTN.
You know how the unregistered GSM are being used by terrorists."

“And between 2009 and today, at least 10,000 Nigerians were killed by Boko Haram. That was why NCC asked MTN, Glo and the rest of them to register GSM."

Unfortunately, MTN was very, very slow and contributed to the casualties."

These were the EXACT words of the president.

You Can Now Reserve Your 'Special' Ntel Number

It is no longer news that the telecommunications giant formerly known as NITEL is coming back and it is going to be way better than it ever was.

The telecommunications assets previously owned by NITEL was bought by NATCOM in May 2015. And now, the new owners are Rebranding it to NTEL.

How to reserve Ntel number
As the company is preparing to launch a super fast 4G network in Nigeria, they have now started a programme which allows you to create and reserve the phone number you'll use when NTEL fully kick off services.

Reserve Ntel number
The campaign started on March 8 and would last till June 5. Within this time, every subscriber is given the opportunity to create up to five special phone numbers.

For example, you could just go to NTEL website and create 08041234567. If it is available, it's all yours.

How To Reserve Your Ntel Number

Reserving your special Ntel number is really easy,you just have to follow three steps;
  • Visit Ntel.com.ng and click reserve number.
  • Fill up the details (your name, email etc)
  • Choose Your Number and reserve.

Most likely, Ntel will contact subscribers when their Sim cards are ready to be picked up.

Now that I think about it, I remember Etisalat did this exact same thing when they started out. I reserved a number then but I couldn't pick it up because there was no pick up station close to where I lived.

Android Marshmallow 6.0 Update Available For Infinix Note2

Beware! There Are Fake Infinix Hot 2 In The Market

BEWARE, This Might Be A Long Post just try to read it till end.

For every popular and successful products on high demand, you have a set people who believe that the original manufacturer might not be able to satisfy all the customers waiting in line.

And as such, they go and they make their own version of the products and 97% of the time these counterfeited products are usually not up to standards.

This is the case of the Infinix Hot 2, the demand for the Infinix Hot 2 is so much that most of the time it is sold out on major e-commerce sites across the country. That phone too popular, Abeg... I mean, not a day goes by that I don't see the Infinix Hot 2.

The demand for the Infinix Hot 2 has made some people start making their Infinix Hot 2 and believe me, these fake Infinix Hot 2 are nothing compared to the original Infinix Hot 2.

A while back, I went with a friend who wanted to buy the Infinix Hot 2. When we got to the store and demanded for the phone, we were given something with an entirely different package from the Infinix Hot 2.

Opening the pack, and bringing out the phone we saw something different from the Infinix Hot 2. It looked like the Infinix Hot 2 but if you had really spent your time on the Infinix Hot 2, you'll know something didn't feel right about the phone.

Long story short, we realised it was a fake Infinix Hot 2 and didn't buy it.

Tecno Set To Launch Boom J8 - With Crazy Specs

Last week I told you guys about a new device Tecno was about to launch but from the teaser, I thought it was either going to be a tablet or a hybrid tablet-PC like the Tecno Winpad 10.

Tecno new boom j8
However, now that the blue hood has been pulled off and the device has been revealed, it appears the device would be a 5.5 inch phablet and pretty one at that.

The coming device would a successor to the largely successful Tecno Boom J7 and it'll be called Tecno boom J8.

Tecno Boom J8 price

Though the photos in this post were not officially released by Tecno mobile, it was probably posted by an insider however comparing them to the ones that Tecno has been teasing, I think it's safe to say that these might really be the Tecno Boom J8.

New Tecno Boom J8

According to the insider, the specs of the Tecno Boom J8 are as follows ;
  • 5.5 inch display
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB ROM
  • 3800mah battery
  • Android 5.1 with the all new Tecno Hios UI

A release date is of 'sometime in March' has been set for the Tecno Boom J8 but no specific day.

For the price of the Tecno Boom J8, sadly nothing was said but if I was to guess I'll say it'll be between 30k-40k...just saying.

Whatsapp End Support For Blackberry devices, Some Windows And Others

Recently, Whatsapp have been in the news various reasons.
Few weeks ago, it reached a whooping 1 billion active users per month milestone.
Then shortly after that it celebrated it 7th year of existence anniversary.

Whatsapp has appeared in the news again but this time, it's for something really shocking.
 During the celebration of its 7th year of existence, Whatsapp announced that it will no longer offer the kind of capabilities that WhatsApp requires to expand its features in the future to the following mobile platforms;

  • BlackBerry devices including BlackBerry 10
  • Nokia S40 devices
  • Nokia Symbian S60 devices
  • Android phones running version 2.1 and 2.2
  • Windows Phones running Windows 7.1

Basically, what this means is that very soon the above mentioned devices will no longer be able to run the popular instant messaging app, Whatsapp.

This is really bad for blackberry seeing as even their Blackberry 10 devices where included. So, very soon blackberry devices won't run whatsapp including the Porsche, Passport and other high-end blackberry device, the only exception would be the Blackberry Priv because it runs on Android OS.

Here are The Unconfirmed Specs Of The Infinix Hot 3

I apologize for my recent inconsistency, I've got exams coming up so I gotta burn the midnight oil even though it's frustrating I gotta do it.
It'll be over by next week, pleeeeeaaasee just bear with me.

Now...Last week, I announced the coming of the Infinix Hot 3 although I didn't say anything about the specs because at the time there was almost nothing known about the new Infinix Hot 3.

Infinix Hot 3 specs

Some supposed specs of the Infinix Hot 3 have been Leaked on the Internet.

The rumored specs of the Infinix Hot 3 are;

Specs Of Infinix Hot 3

  • 5.5inches 720p display
  • Android 5.1.1 with XUI
  • 3000mah battery
  • 1.3GHz MediaTek Quad-core processor
  • Mali 400-M2 GPU
  • 1 GB/ 2 GB RAM
  • 3G Mode for the 1GB RAM variant
  • 4G LTE for the 2GB RAM version
  • 16GB internal memory expandable with Micro SD card
  • 8mp rear camera and 2mp front facing camera with wide angle and soft flash.

If these are truly the specs of the Infinix Hot 3, then I'm really disappointed because I expected something different, something better.

The Infinix Hot 3 is supposed to be better than its predecessor the Infinix Hot 2 but looking through this spec list you would clearly see that almost everything is same on the Infinix Hot 2 expect for the newly added front flash.

These guys can do better, they should do better.

Meanwhile, the price is still unknown stay tuned to find out the price of the Infinix Hot 3.
