Etisalat Officially Changes Its Name To 9Mobile

A while back, the entire Nigerian Techsphere was shocked to hear that Etisalat as we know it would be leaving and the company would getting a new name.

Etisalat changes name to 9mobile

According to Etisalat, internal operations will not be affected and staffs will not be retrenched, the only change would be the brand's name which has now been changed.

On Thursday, July 13, Etisalat Officially changed its name after weeks of debt related crisis. The management of the company at the end of a management meeting held in Lagos adopted the name 9Mobile as the new brand name.

This happened after Etisalat International issued a 3-week ultimatum for the company to have a change of name.
Now that the name has been changed, we should begin to see effect of the name change from any moment soon, adverts, notifications on mobile devices etc.

Personally, if you ask me I think 9Mobile is a horrible choice of name.

How To See People Sharing Your Data On Glo

GLO made sharing of data easy to do, a little bit too easy if you ask me.

Its so easy that a third party that has access to your phone can easily share your data, delete the message and you wouldn't know what had happened.

This was what happened to me, I subscribed less than a week ago only for me to wake up this morning to find out that my data has exhausted... I jumped up, how come???

How to see people sharing your data on glo
Immediately, I called the customer service to find out what happened and how it happened. After much long talk, they told me that I wasn't the only one using my data, imagine my shock!

Then they told me how to see a list of people that were helping me to use my data.
After all the procedures, I got their(more than one person) numbers and kicked them out.

To see list of people sharing your data on GLO, dial *127*00# or Send “List” to 127

You will get a notification of those using your data, then you can copy out there numbers then Remove them.

I hope this helps.

Could This Be The End Of Etisalat As We Know It??

Etisalat has terminated its management agreement with its Nigerian arm and Etisalat Nigeria has been given three weeks to phase-out the brand in the country. This was as a result of the $1.7 billion loan talk collapse.

End of Etisalat
Nigerian regulators intervened last week to save Etisalat Nigeria from crashing after lenders were calling for the probe and total takeover of the company.

However, Etisalat International announced on Monday that it was pulling out after all UAE shareholders of the company have exited and left the board and management of the Nigerian brand.

Etisalat Nigeria has just three weeks to use the brand name, after which it'll have to change it to something else or other companies will buy it off.
For now, we don't know what will happen to the millions of subscribers on the network.

Google Launches New Experimental Data Saving App 'TRIANGLE'

One major challenge most smartphone users face is the issue of data usage and Google has brought a solution to the problem.

Though this isn't the first time Google is coming up with a means to save data as there's a data saving option present on the chrome browser.

But the new Triangle app offers something better.

Google triangle data saver
Google is testing a new app called Triangle, the app allows users to customize how apps are allowed to use data by choosing between options like 10 minutes at a time, 30 minutes or “Always.”

The app shows you which apps are using your data the most and gives you an option to suspend them.

For people that have problems with background apps draining their data, you will value this app the most.

Officially, Google is testing this app in Philipines but you can download it from APK mirror here and watch the app help you with your data saving issues.
