Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphone, tablets and other devices running on the android OS(operating system) to attain a special privileged control(aka Root Access) over certain areas of the android's subsystems.
Rooting gives android users the ability to alter or replace android system apps and settings, and run certain special applications that require administrative-level control and also perform certain operations that are blocked to a normal user such as changing of fonts, changing of Custom ROMs and many others.
Rooting provides a more advanced control over your android device such as modifying and deleting system files. Rooting a device would also install super-user application which supervises applications that are granted root or superuser rights by requesting approval from the user before granting said permissions.
There are numerous rooting programs which you can use in rooting your android devices such as kingoroot, framaroot, towel root.
