Nigeria Remains Forgotten As PayPal Allow Zimbabweans Receive Funds via PayPal

In a recently released list, PayPal ranked Nigeria 3rd in Mobile shopping(even more than USA), India was 2nd and China 1st.
Also, Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa with over 200 million citizens. Despite all these facts, PayPal has decided to snub Nigeria and move over to Zimbabwe to allow Zimbabweans receive funds via PayPal.

PayPal in Nigeria

In 2014, PayPal launched it services in Nigeria at the same time it was also launched in Zimbabwe and a few other African Countries. At the time of launch, PayPal services in these countries were limited as users could only send funds but weren't not able to receive.

This action by PayPal killed a lot of business ideas and is currently affecting the customer base of many Nigerian businesses. But we had no choice, we had to live with it.

But something happened a couples of days ago, PayPal enabled the receive fund features in Zimbabwe allowing them to send and receive funds through PayPal.

I have no idea why PayPal would do something like that. In business, you stay more committed to your larger customer base but that is not happening in this case.

On the bright side, PayPal enabling the receive funds option in Zimbabwe could mean that Nigeria would be next. Let's see how things turn out.
