Seagate Builds World Largest SSD With 60TB Disk Space

Last week, Samsung announced that it had built the largest SSD in the world, a 15.36TB drive that cost $10,000.

This week, Seagate has created an SSD four times the size of Samsung's 15TB SSD with 60TB space in a 3.5-inch format and Seagate says it should be available sometime in 2017. The drive will be displayed at the 2016 Flash Memory Summit.

60 terabytes is a crazy amount of data, I mean, that's 60,000 gigabytes for Christ's sake; the hard drive can store 400 million standard-sized photos or 12,000 movies.

The 60TB drive is created for enterprise use same as Samsung's 15TB drive.
Seagate also hints that it could scale up storage up to 100TB in the same format. However, until Seagate finally releases this monstrous drive next year, Samsung still holds the title for the largest SSD you can buy.

By the way, imagine the size difference between this hard drive and the 5mb hard drive I wrote about days ago.
