How To Know If Your Device Supports 4G LTE Network

In less than two months, we've seen three out of the four major telecom companies in Nigeria unveil 4G LTE Network.
MTN started the cycle back in September followed by Glo then Etisalat last week.

4G network is the IT thing now but to enjoy fast 4G Internet connection you need a smartphone that supports 4G connectivity.
Most recently released smartphones support 4G BUT not all so how do you know if your smartphone is one of the lucky few?

How To Know If Your Smartphone Supports 4G

Android
For Android Users, go to settings -> Network settings -> mobile network. You should see a dropdown menu showing all supported networks such as 2G, 3G or LTE (4G). If you don’t see 4G or LTE, then your smartphone doesn’t support 4G LTE.

iPhone
for the Apple boys, go to Settings -> General -> cellular -> Enable 4G LTE.

Windows
For Windows device users, go to Settings -> Celluar + Sim -> Highest connection speed and check if LTE is part of the options.

Blackberry
On your BB device, Go to setting -> Network and Connection -> Mobile Network -> Network mode and you’ll see 4G & 3G & 2G. If you use a Blackberry Q5 and below, you won’t get 4G network services.

Once you’ve selected LTE and you’ve on a 4G network, the “LTE” symbol will appear on the phone status bar replacing either “3G”, “H” or “2G” symbols.
